My interest in asking questions and working with data stems from my University years, spent studying Marketing and Advertising at the University of Lincoln. Since then, over 80% (and rising) of my working life has been spent working in research and insights roles.
The variety of work and the people, sectors and brands we work with are certainly unique to anything I’ve done before (11 hour shifts as a stop/go sign boy on the streets of New Zealand, do not deliver much variety!). I enjoy delivering understanding that clients may not know as well as validating some of their ‘gut feelings’. Coming from the perspective of a marketing degree, it’s good to work with proactive clients who take the intelligence we provide and use it to help them grow their businesses and brands.
When I’m not researching, I’m either watching sports or going to the gym to keep fit (the sauna counts right?!). I’m a Norwich City Football Club season ticket holder (along with Delia Smith and Stephen Fry), have a keen interest in golf and attended the 2010 and 2014 Ryder Cups.
